  I was recently in the process of renting a home with Sierra Realty, Inc., and the process was anything but seamless in my opinion to say the least. My roommates and I (students at the University of Miami) were originally told that the home was to be renovated over the summer and available to rent the first of August. She emailed me the lease document, which was filled with a multitude of errors concerning home insurance coverage, the initial deposit amount, as well as the rental period. Reluctant to sign the lease before these issues were rectified, the real estate agent urged us to send her the completed (incorrect) lease along with the initial deposit and threatened to rent the home to other perspective tenants if we did not do it the day of her request. This was unrealistic seeing as two out of the four roommates are home for the summer in the North East. Despite this, I still attempted to contact the realtor to negotiate a compromise. After many failed attempts to communicate with the realtor over the following two days of her request, she contacted us and explained that the house had been rented out to another family starting out on the first of June and that she would not hold the house until August, when we were under the impression that the house was to be renovated over the summer. As a result, myself and three other UM students were left without housing for the upcoming semester. Due to my experience, I would not recommend Sierra Realty to anyone in the process of buying or renting a home as the service provided to me was unprofessional and the lack of communication rather offensive.
